As We Think, So We Reap

I know, I know... it does sound like a cliche...

But then, the laws of cause and effect, behave the same way in the veiled and unobserved realm of ours thoughts, as in the material world we perceive as our reality.

For most of us, the material world, and all that it encompasses is our reality.

When we think about it, our individual reality is actually the combination of both the material world and the veiled realm of our thoughts.  Our thoughts are the cause and most of the things that happen around us are the effect.

Our thoughts are based on how we perceive the world around us; and how we perceive the world around us is based on how we think.  They way we think is usually a very set pattern shaped by not just our life experiences, but also by the meaning we assign to those experiences.

Therefore, how we react to what happens around us is based on how we think.  This reaction in turn causes a domino effect.  So, the way we think is the cause and the domino effect is the effect.

Can this pattern be changed? It can. It changes as we learn to identify and become aware of reactionary thoughts as and when they occur, and learn to employ responsive thoughts instead.

Reactionary thoughts cloud our perception. Surprisingly, reactionary thoughts could even be positive thoughts about a situation.

Irrespective of whether reactionary thoughts are positive or negative, they have the power to wreck havoc in our lives.

This post is based on the ideas in the book "As a Man Thinkth" by James Allen.
