I was looking up the origins of the Tamil language and came across this lovely poem in Wikipedia -tamil Literature
This poem describes how 2 totally unrelated people and inseparably bound together with the bonds of love.
Red earth and pouring rain[1]
What could my mother be
to yours? What kin is my father
to yours anyway? And how
Did you and I meet ever?
But in love
our hearts have mingled
as red earth and pouring rain
[Translated by AK Ramanujan (Kuruntokai - 40)
A poem from the Eight Anthologies collection
Cooking and gardening inevitably lead to Random Musings... Those thoughts that are like butterflies flitting in and out of our minds. The best of them flit just as quickly away. When they are uttered by famous people, they get captured for eternity. When they are yours or mine we've got to capture them ourselves before they flit away...
